A GLOBAL PRESENCE

JN Bentley has worked together with Mott MacDonald since 1999, when our design and build business – Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB) – was formed. Since then, our working relationship has gone from strength-to-strength, achieving project and client success in the water sector and beyond. In 2014, JN Bentley became part of the Mott MacDonald Group, bringing added integration, collaboration and technical capability to both businesses, building on the foundations already set for excellence in engineering project design and construction delivery.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

As part of the Mott MacDonald Group, we benefit from access to global resources, skills and expertise. Bringing in specialist knowledge to support our teams aids their development, strengthens our capability and adds value to project delivery.

In 2025, we collaborated with over 650 specialist and discipline engineers from Mott MacDonald, whose diverse expertise in areas such as ecology, process engineering, and hydrogeology directly contributed to the effective design and execution of our projects.

PRACTICES

At the core of Mott MacDonald’s technical capability are its global Practices – collaborative networks that bring together employees with common areas of interest and expertise. From pipelines and networks to water treatment, mechanical engineering and digital delivery, these practices provide leadership, technical excellence, and innovation for project delivery.

In 2025, MMB established a new Construction Practice, connecting colleagues with expertise and a passion for the construction of the built environment. It covers the key communities of temporary works, site engineering, digital construction and construction inspection.

Our teams worked with Mott MacDonald specialists in water retaining structures and geotechnics to enhance the structural and geotechnical design of circular tanks, including settlement tanks.

GLOBAL DELIVERY SERVICE

The Global Delivery Services (GDS) unit is a centralised, specialist delivery function supporting projects globally, using multi-disciplinary teams and digital tools. Primarily based in India, MMB's GDS team resource includes 160+ colleagues servicing our clients and their frameworks.
